Final Thoughts
I learned a great deal in the Maker class. I am now confident that I can create just about any type of project that can be made with Scratch and Makey Makey. I also feel confident that I can learn other systems quickly as well because of my experience with learning how to use the Makey Makey board with Scratch which was completely foreign to me prior to taking this class.
I plan on using what I have learned to help the teachers I support integrate Scratch and Makey Makey projects into their classroom lessons. I used the Makey Makey projects that I created for this course with teachers and I received great feedback. I am now working on some projects that involve force and motion and circuits that teachers want to use in their classrooms. I found that teachers are eager to share resources and help me build these projects when they know they can use them with their students.
I think my strengths are understanding the code logic. This is comfortable for me. I can see the logical connections in my head and I know what needs to be done with the code even if I don't know how to make it happen with the interface. I plan to enhance this skill by taking some courses on Python so that I can learn to code in a platform that is most used with the arduino and raspberry pi boards. I would like to learn how to create projects for these platforms moving forward.
